What is this weekend about and who is it for?
The workshop is an opportunity for you to find out more about yourself and your behavioural and physical habits. The aim of the course is:
- to use the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) to help you learn more about what’s unique about the way you relate to the world and interact with it,
- to compare this with how other people do it differently.
- to use the Alexander Technique to explore how these behavioural habits might be held as muscular tension within the physical body.
- to
look at the workings of psycho-physical
links.
Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)
You will have the opportunity to complete the MBTI questionnaire and receive feedback from an experienced practitioner. We show how people can have different but perfectly valid ways of seeing the world and interacting within it, which can result in people misunderstanding each other.
Alexander Technique
The way you stand, sit or walk might be causing you postural problems, back ache or pain. This course wiil help you find out more about how you use your body and how this can cause discomfort or pain. The weekend will be of interest to those who are new to both MBTI and Alexander Technique as well as those who have some experience of either. Even if you already know your MBTI type, you will learn more about it and how others are different from you during the group exercises.
Approach
The course assumes that you have no prior knowledge of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) or the Alexander Technique, although if you know a little about either you can still expect to get something from the weekend.
There are some short introductions to the basic concepts but the majority of the programme involves practical, interactive sessions.
Numbers are limited to 10 participants on this course to ensure that there is plenty time for one-to-one attention from the facilitators. You will have the opportunity to have a one-to-one discussion about the feedback from the MBTI questionnaire. You will also receive individual supervision during the Alexander Technique exercises.
